Update from the KKIS (Keeping Kids In School) Project in Mexico
This week the volunteers reviewed the parts of the face vocabulary which the kids had learned with their English language Curriculum and computer program called Little Reader, which is a part of a Scholarship by EEECF through LLI-Mexico . Most of the students were on a field trip so the class was much smaller and quieter than usual. We gave each child a white board and marker and had them write and rewrite the vocabulary words there.
The volunteers had flash cards with photos and printed words to show the kids. Some children are much quicker than others with writing but they all got it. Then they turned their white boards over and drew faces with the features suggested by the volunteer. And finally they labeled all the parts of the face in English. Great fun and great artists!
